EDUCATION TAX CREDIT LETTERS – are ready for pick up in the office. You will need this information to file your taxes.

TUITION – Semi-annual and quarterly tuition statements have been mailed.

THANK YOU! – to Heather Jenkins and Raeann Reyes, chairs of the Home & School Association and Steel River Systems, for providing the staff with a wonderful lunch last week on Staff Appreciation Day!!  It was delicious and much appreciated!!

NEWMAN HIGH SCHOOL - will be administering placement testing to 8^th graders on Thursday, February 10^th beginning at 8:30am. Please make sure your 8^th grader gets plenty of sleep and has a good breakfast!!

CLASS VALENTINES DAY PARTIES – PK Thursday, February 10^th; K-1 and 4-8 Monday, February 14^th, at 2pm.  Grades 2 and 3 Monday, February 14^th at 1:20-2:20pm.

8^th GRADE NIGHT – Come celebrate with our 8^th grade girls basketball players as the finish their career here at St. Mary’s School, and honor Coach Hammes, who has coached St. Mary’s basketball teams over 9 years. Game starts at 5:00pm.

VISION AND HEARING TESTING – will take place Tuesday, February 15^th.

EARLY DISMISSAL – Wednesday, February 16^th at 11:15AM for Professional Development.

NO SCHOOL – Monday, February 21^st in observance of President’s Day.

8^TH GRADE CONFIRMATION – our 8^th graders will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on Tuesday, February 22^nd at 5:30 in St. Mary’s Church, with pictures preceeding at 4:20. Please keep the students, their families, and their sponsors in your prayers.

CALLING ALL MIDDLE SCHOOLERS! – Our music teacher, Mrs. H., is directing/producing “James and the Giant Peach” at Woodlawn Arts Academy. She is looking for 6, 7, and 8^th grade students to be a part of this production. 5^th graders can go on a waiting list. If your child is interested, please call Woodlawn Arts Academy. Rehearsals start Monday, February 14^th at 3:45.

NOW HIRING – We are so very sad to see Mrs. Liston resign her position, but we are so happy for her to begin her retirement. We are hiring a 5^th grade teacher for 2022-2023. The application is available online at smsterling.org under Job Openings.

BE LIKE GARRETT! – In honor of Captain Garrett Ramos, we have “Be Like Garrett” bracelets. These bracelets are available in the office for sale, for a free will offering. Funds will go toward new basketball hoops and backboards in the school gym in his memory.

Sports & Mask Requirements: St. Mary’s will stick with our local Diocesan policy and leave it as a recommendation for our school.  We have some schools in our conference that are still requiring masks so if we attend events at their school we are wearing masks.
