ST. MARY’S NEWSLETTER FOR SEPTEMBER 29, 2021

FOOD PANTRY DRIVE – Once again, Newman and other surrounding high schools will be sponsoring the Fill the Pantries food drive. We will begin collecting items starting today and through Tuesday, October 5^th.  NHS Students will be here at the school on Wednesday, October 6^th to collect our donations. A flyer will be coming home giving suggestions of items that are most needed. Thank everyone! Let’s make St. Mary’s proud!

METEORS ON A MISSION
Dear St. Mary’s families, 
        On behalf of Meteors on a Mission, a new group in St. Mary’s middle school, we would like to invite you to have a pink themed day with uniform bottoms on October 1st! We will be raising money and donating to Pink Heals. Pink Heals’ Fire Truck will be coming to our school on that day to give the whole school a talk about the importance of the things they do and how to spread awareness! The fee to dress in a pink shirt/uniform bottoms will be a minimum of $1. In addition to the pink attire the 7 students of Meteors on a Mission will be doing $0.50 face paint outside on the playground at 7:45am. We will be doing this outside to follow proper mask restrictions. With that all being said, please wear pink attire to show that we truly care for those affected by cancer!

NO SCHOOL – Friday, October 8^th. Teacher’s Institute.

NO SCHOOL – Monday, October 11^th in observance of Columbus Day.

SCHOOL PICTURE RETAKES – will be Tuesday, October 12^th beginning at 8AM. If you wish to have your child’s picture retaken, please send the entire package back to school with your child. Persona will use that package to reorder the exact same package with the new picture. If your child missed the original picture day, please send the order envelope with them to school that day. Questions? Call the office.

HOME & SCHOOL

Trunk or Treat will be Sunday, October 17^th from 2-3pm in the Parish Center parking lot. Start planning your trunk now! Invitations to come home on October 5^th.

FUNDRAISING
LADIES’ NIGHT OUT/ST. MARY’S RAFFLE/31 CHANCES TO WIN – Tickets should be turned in by October 1st for 31 chances to win but can be turned in all through October. We have plenty of extra tickets in the office if you need more or are looking to purchase tickets for yourself! The calendar listing the amazing baskets, gift card prizes and cash prizes for each day (1^st-31^st), was sent home last week. Thank you!

FRUIT SALE – To allow more time for our October fundraiser, we are moving the start date of the Fruit Sale fundraiser!  The fruit sale will run from October 20- November 3, 2021.  Student-created flyers will come home but all orders will be placed online!!  So easy!!   More information to come soon!
