ST. MARY’S NEWSLETTER FOR OCTOBER 7, 2020 NEW NEWS THIS WEEK:
TUITION PAYMENTS - Statements for quarterly payments have been mailed and are now due.
NO SCHOOL - Friday, October 9th for Teacher’s Institute.
NO SCHOOL - Monday, October 12th in observance of Columbus Day.
YEARBOOKS - we are taking orders for the 2019-2020 yearbook until October 14th. The cost is $17.25. Everyone should have received the red piece of paper with the order envelope attached.
PICTURE RETAKES - will be Friday, October 16th. If you wish to have your child’s picture retaken, please send the entire package you received back to school with them on that day. They will replace the exact package that you ordered. If you missed picture day, please stop in the office for an order envelope.
END OF THE 1ST QUARTER - is Friday, October 16th. Report cards will be available online at 8AM on Friday, October 23rd.
P.T. PENGUIN - Once again, the United Way PT Penguin jugs have arrived!! Students in grades KN-5th will be collecting pennies until the end of this month! There will be a surprise from the United Way for the class collecting the most pennies so keep sending them in all month!!
LIBRARY NEWS Birthday Book Club: Each year on your child’s birthday, they can donate a book to the library. There will be a sticker placed inside the book with your child’s name indicating it was a gift for the Birthday Book Club. NEW Birthday Book Club Member: August 25th - Mae Kelly (PreK4) - “Dragons Love Tacos 2”
OLD NEWS: MORNING DROP OFF - When using the drop-off lane in the main parking lot, please be mindful of those in our St. Mary’s family that are also on their way to work in the morning. If your child is younger and needs assistance getting out of the car, we ask that you please park and assist your child. Please use a parking space or the Bus Lane in front of Door 2 so that your child does not have to cross the street or the main exit. Also, keep in mind that any time you exit the main lot, it is RIGHT TURN ONLY. We have the safety of your children in mind!
HOME AND SCHOOL - The Home and School Association is looking for a volunteer to be the 8th Grade Room Parent this year. If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Julie Penne, 815-535-6105
BOXTOPS - There will be a Clip & Scan paper was sent home last week. For anyone who still has the cut and trimmed the Boxtop, please attach them to the paper. There are also step-by-step instructions on getting yourself registered online for the SCAN program. Watch the video that Mrs. Selmi sent out. It was created by her children, their grandma, and great grandma!!
CALENDAR CHANGES - OCTOBER: a) Fruit Sale - ordering will be done online this year. The website will be launched October 16th. Watch for more information from the Fruit Sale Team!!
