ST. MARY’S NEWSLETTER FOR SEPTEMBER 15, 2021 EARLY OUT - Wednesday, September 22nd at 11:15am. Staff Professional Development. Lunch will not be served.
NEWMAN HOMECOMING PARADE - is Friday, September 24th. We will be walking to Kilgore Park to see all the floats, collect lots of candy, and cheer on the Comets football team!! Parents - permission slips will be coming home, due back Tuesday, September 21st. PLEASE NOTE: If you are planning on attending the parade and will want to take your children with you when you leave, PLEASE mark the YES box at the bottom.
SAFETY CONCERN-PARKING LOT – We have many new families this year, so we’d like to take a moment to discuss the expectations for drop off/pick up parking and the traffic patterns we must follow for student safety.
Arrival – The MAIN EAST lot is used for “drop off” purposes. If you need to exit your vehicle to help a child, please pull into a parking space. You may park in the EAST, WEST, or CHURCH lots. When exiting the MAIN EAST lot, you must turn RIGHT. Preschool families still enter through preschool doors. Dismissal - St. Mary’s families may park in the EAST, WEST, or CHURCH lots. PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON 6TH STREET. Not only is this considered a bus lane, but it is also a FIRE LANE and needs to be kept clear. Doing so will also keep our children safe as it can be difficult to see around the parked cars in the street. In addition, please do not park in front of the STOP SIGN. Cars must not be parked within 30ft. of a stop sign for any reason.
PLEASE HELP US KEEP OUR CHILDREN SAFE!!
DRESS CODE- HAIRSTYLES – Our dress code conveys a sense of community, solidarity, and allegiance to our Catholic faith. As a reminder, hairstyles are part of our dress code. Please take a moment to read through the code and address the language accordingly with your family. Students may receive a dress code violation if their hairstyle does not fit our dress code. We thank you for electronically signing the handbook stating that you support our expectations and guidelines.
HAIRSTYLES – Hair should be worn off the face and out of the eyes (above the eyebrow) and should be well groomed. No unnatural hair color, hair extensions, wraps, or fad style haircuts are allowed. Hair for boys must be above the shirt collar. Simple hair accessories may be worn.
MASKS– Please take a moment to express the importance of masking indoors to your children. Many students are forgetting masks and need several reminders to keep the mask up over their noses. This is temporary, but we need your support. We appreciate you communicating this to your children so that they understand we are all in this together. When students are 3ft apart and properly masked, they may not need to quarantine due to an exposure. This is so important. Thank you!
