St. Mary's School 5th-8th Grade Activity Code
Athletics and extra curricular activities have definite contributions to make to the school's program. The purpose of interscholastic activities is to stimulate fair play, friendly rivalry, and good sportsmanship among contestants, schools and communities through the state. When a person desires to particpate on a team, she/he no longer acts solely as as individual, but must assume the obligations of being a member of a team and representative of the school. People will judge the participant, his/her Christain faith and the school by the manner in which she/he performs. Many of the groups being represented by the participant have contributed extensive time, money, and energy to provide support and encourage the team, and they are entitled to be represened by student participants who have the personal integrity to set an appropriate example as a St. Mary's School 5th-8th grade student.
Eligibilty
St. Mary's School provides a “no-cut” policy for all middle school athletics. This means that all students may participate in athletics providing they MAINTAIN THE STANDARDS of academic performance stated in the school's handbook and athletic participation policy. Student athletes are expected to maintain appropriate sportsmanship and behavior both on and off the field.
